Weird Illusion

It doesn't add up!!
Three people eat at a restaurant. The bill comes to $60 so they leave the exact amount on the table. The waiter, upon picking up the money suddenly remembers that the food bill should have been $50 and so runs after the people to return the $10. As he approaches the people he realizes that $10 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets $4 (as a tip) and gives $2 to each person. Now each person paid $20 and got back $2. So they paid $18 each, totalling $54. The waiter has $4, totalling $58. So where has the missing $2 gone???
